Patients

Aurabox allows you to create patient accounts (and optionally invite patients to the platform). Once a patient account has been created, imaging can be uploaded, stored and viewed.

Understanding Patients in Aurabox

The main system-of-record in Aurabox is a Patient profile. This is a record of the patient’s personal details, and is used to identify them in the system. Patient profiles can store different kinds of data, primarily Medical Imaging, but also documents, notes, and other data. Patients can be tagged, added to MDT Meetings, and have their data shared with other users.

While Patient records are not shared between organisations, the underlying reference to the person and their assets is. If you share a patient with another organisation any imaging or documents that you add to that patient will be visible to all other organisations that patient is shared with.

If you invite the Patient to use Aurabox, then their profile is owned and controlled by the patient, and they can decide who has access to them, and when. You can choose whether to invite patients to Aurabox when you add them, or later on

How to add a patient

  1. Select “Add patient” from your dashboard
  2. Start by searching the patients email. This will tell you if the patient already exists in Aurabox.
  3. If the patient is found, proceed to Existing patients or New patients depending on your needs.

Existing patients

Existing patients on the Aurabox platform will appear as you type in the ‘email address’ field.

If the patient already has an Aurabox profile, select the ‘add this patient’ button.

  • Most patients have elected to allow all doctors on the Aurabox platform to automatically access their imaging. Once added, these patients will automatically appear on your patient list.
  • Some patients have elected to individually accept/reject access requests. In this case, an email will be sent to the patient notifying them that you have requested access to their imaging. Once the patient accepts your request they will appear on your patient list.

New patients

Enter the patients email, first and last name, and any other details you have.

Select “invite user”, and an email will automatically be sent to the patient notifying them that you have invited them to the platform, and prompt them to verify their account.

Inviting patients

Patients can be invited to use Aurabox at any time. Invited patients get their own account tied to their email address, and can access their data independently.

Invited Patients cannot be deleted, only removed from your team. They will retain their accounts with any imaging and documents you have added.

Patients have control over sharing on their account, and can set restrictions on who their account can be shared with.

You do not have to invite Patients to use Aurabox, however if you do not invite them, they will not be able to access their data independently.
